I am so proud to lead one of the world’s great multicultural cities, and the City of Melbourne is delighted to support the Colours of Asia: Garden of Wonders Festival.
Over 2 wonderful weekends, Alexandra Gardens will be transformed as we celebrate the cultures, traditions and communities that help make our city one of the most welcoming and exciting places to live, work, learn, visit and play.
Join us on the banks of the Yarra River – Birrarung, beneath a canopy of lanterns and experience the sights, sounds and flavours of Asia. From incredible street food and cultural performances to live music and entertainment, Garden of Wonders offers something for everyone to enjoy.
With more than 35 vendors serving hundreds of dishes, you’ll have a chance to sample new flavours, revisit old favourites and take a culinary journey through Asia, all without leaving the city.
Thank you to the organisers, the stallholders and entertainers for bringing multicultural Melbourne together to celebrate the rich cultures of our friends, neighbours and colleagues across Asia.
I wish the Colours of Asia: Garden of Wonders Festival every success and hope you all enjoy an unforgettable few weekends in Melbourne – Australia’s events capital!
Nick Reece
Lord Mayor of Melbourne
