Medhasvi Centre for Indian Performing Arts and Culture, based in Melbourne, is a creative space dedicated to preserving the rich classical traditions of India while embracing the diversity of modern expression, through the training of Bharatanatyam, which is an ancient classical dance form of India.
Founded by Medha Aich – an accomplished theatre artist and Bharatanatyam dancer with over 15 years of experience – Medhasvi stands at the intersection of art, emotion, and philosophy. We believe that every performance is not merely an act of entertainment, but a dialogue between the performer, the audience, and the universe itself.
At Medhasvi, our perspective towards performance is deeply rooted in the spirit of Sadhana – the disciplined practice through which art becomes a path of self-discovery and holistic development of the body, mind and soul. We aim to evoke emotion, provoke thought, and celebrate the timeless connection between the physical and the spiritual.
Each of our dance presentations seek to tell stories that resonate beyond language and culture – blending tradition and innovation to remind us that art, at its core, is a shared human experience. The theme of our dance is the Devine feminine and we dedicate our performance to the multi-cultural spirit of Australia, that inspires us to move ahead together in harmony.
The group is scheduled to perform on Sunday 7 December 2025 at night time. Check out our Performing Arts Program Schedule which will be published soon.
