Melbourne musician, Chris Wright, began his love of sound from a young age.
A versatile multi-instrumentalist, he plays saxophone, trombone, voice and piano, performing regularly around Naarm / Melbourne under his own name, as well as performing Alberfeldie Brass Band on trombone and in the 40-piece Monash Concert Band on tenor sax.
Chris can often be spotted busking, sax in hand, on the streets of Melbourne.
He loves performing both originals, jazz and covers, attracting audiences.
In 2022, Chris won ‘Best Jazz Player’ in the Kilmore Regional Busking Championship.
Chris was just crowned as a runner up in the Kilmore Regional Busking Championship, 2024.

In 2021, Chris was the recipient of a mentorship grant from Arts Access Victoria’s Music Makers program, using the opportunity to deepen and explore his practice. Passionate for the stage, he previously acted for City of Voices and into the Lime Light, and has recently finished his diploma of Music Performance at Melbourne Polytechnic.
Chris released his debut EP, ‘Destiny’ in 2024. This body of work explores themes of love, overcoming adversity and the euphoric power of music.
‘Destiny’ showcases Chris’ broad musical palette from Pop, Jazz, Rock & Soul, drawing from a range of influences including, Amy Winehouse, James Brown, Dexter Gordon, and Dizzy Gillespie.
The EP was produced by Craig Pilkington (The Killjoys) at Audrey Studios and released by Wild at Heart Records.
