Experience the power and precision of Aikido Shudokan in a fast-paced, action-packed demonstration showcasing the art’s traditional Japanese samurai roots. Founded by world-renowned Joe Thambu Shihan, Aikido Shudokan was the first Yoshinkan-style Aikido school established in Australia and the Shudokan has been teaching and spreading the art of Aikido for over 40 years — sharing this effective and graceful martial art across the country and around the world.
The Aikido we teach is practical, effective, and true to its samurai origins — blending tradition with real-world application. With dojos in Bentleigh, Coburg, and Research, as well as a strong presence internationally, Aikido Shudokan continues to inspire and teach under some of the top instructors in the world.
We offer classes for children, teens, and adults—building confidence, discipline, and strength for all ages. Come see us on stage to see why Aikido is as fascinating and dynamic as it is powerful.
Aikido Shudokan is scheduled to perform on Sunday 6 December 2025 during day time. Check out our Performing Arts Program Schedule which will be published soon.
