Adelindo stands for ADELaide INDOnesia.
They are hobbyist musicians, specialists in playing one of many Indonesian Traditional Music Instruments, named Angklung.
Since 2011, they have performed at many events on different occasions in South Australia, and other states. They have also performed in New Zealand and in Hawaii too.
The instrument, Angklung (AAAng – Klooong) is made of bamboo, a giant grass. Handmade from West Java, Indonesia. The sound of bamboo tubes is very soothing. Traditionally, it only has 5 notes (pentatonic). It was modified to have the same notes as international music tones. So not only can they play traditional folk songs from Indonesia, but also any songs from around the world.
On the 13th of September 2014, Adelaide held the biggest angklung ensemble called “Angklung United” at the Royal Adelaide Show. This event was an attempt to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the most people playing angklung together. There were 6,041 people playing angklung at that time.
Adelindo has performed at Asia Oasis events for the last nine festivals, and they will be coming all the way from Adelaide to perform at the Melbourne festival the second time, from 4 to 7 December 2025.
Adelindo will be performing at Asia Street Food Festival every night, from Thursday to Sunday 4-7 December 2025, and will be having a workshop on Saturday 6 December 2025 in the afternoon.
